Billionaire Co-Founder of Google Donates $1 million to HIAS

The New York Times reports that Sergey Brin, the wealthy co-founder of Google has pledged $1 million to the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.  The HIAS has had an extraordinary impact on millions of Jews. For generation after generation, HIAS has provided essential lifesaving services to world Jewry, through its mission of rescue, reunion and resettlement.

"I would have never had the kinds of opportunities I've had here in the Soviet Union, or even in Russia today," Mr. Brin said in an interview. "I would like to see anyone be able to achieve their dreams, and that's what this organization does."
