Immigration Reform Next?

Now that Health Care Reform has passed the Congress, is Immigration Reform next?

As referenced in the blog post Immigration Reform Framework Drafted By Senators, America's Voice Founder, Frank Sharry discusses current efforts to pass Immigration Reform and the core pillars of the plan:

  1. Secure Social Security cards
  2. Tougher border security
  3. Process for admitting temporary workers
  4. Path to citizenship
Sharry believes requiring illegal immigrants to pass background checks, study English and pay their taxes to get to the back of citizenship line combined with cracking down on illegal hiring is the way we can make the system legal.

Sounds a lot more pragmatic than deporting 11 million people, doesn't it?
