Arizona's Immigration Law and the Impact on MLB's Latino Rookies

This article really struck me about the impact of Arizona's tough, new immigration law.  Although, they are all living and working in the US legally, they could be adversely impacted as the new law requires state and local law enforcement officials to inquire about immigration status during any lawful stop such as a minor traffic violation.

Mayor Gordon and Gov. Brewer Divided Over New Arizona Immigration Law

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon argues that the tough new immigration law will have an adverse impact on the state's safety by diverting police attention away from dangerous criminals toward anyone they reasonably suspect of being an illegal immigrant.  He says that police are in a quandry because enforcing a law under a new standard of "reasonable suspision" that has yet to be defined opens them up to lawsuits from both the State and civil courts.
